Live Jazz! Free Appetizers! Herb Smith and the Freedom Trio returns for Jazz on Joseph!

Herb Smith leads his Freedom Trio on trumpet and also performs in the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. He is trumpet instructor at the Eastman School of Music and is a teacher, arranger and composer. Herb graduated from the Eastman School of Music in 1991, and upon graduating acquired the 2nd trumpet position with RPO for two years. After years of living in Rochester, freelancing, teaching, and being an extra in the orchestra, Herb landed 3rd trumpet in the Orchestra permanently. He has played with the Cincinnati Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, the Chautauqua Symphony, Skaneateles Summer Festival Orchestra, and the Gateways Music Festival Orchestra. Herb also plays often with Rochester reggae legends, The Majestics.
